Newmarket's six-race evening card includes a competitive six furlong maiden, the Maritime Cargo Services On Time Maiden Stakes, where William Haggas could continue his excellent run of form. On paper, Wiesaam does not look the obvious candidate for the win based on a disappointing debut when beaten twenty-five lengths behind Tiger Mask in a seven-furlong Ascot novice stakes but the gelding drifted in the betting before the off and was never in it under Tom Marquand. A son of Kodiac, Wiesaam boasts speed on both sides with dam Butoolat (Oasis Dream) placed over five and six furlongs during her career. The drop back in distance is sure to suit and it's hard to look past Haggas' current record – 42% strike rate over the last fourteen days – with Tom Marquand also operating at 23%. The tongue-tie has been left off for this run and support in the market suggests the yard are expecting an improved effort.

WIESAAM – WIN – 9/1
