Big weekend on both coasts

Especially for horses racing on turf.

Del Mar hosts the Clement L Hirsch Gr over 1700m turf with a field of 11.  We don't know much about these runners so here's the Morning Line's top choices:  Legitimate Target on 4/1 d'Amato-Fresu, Nuclear 9/2 for Sadler-Gutierrez and Classically 5/1 also for d'Amato with J J Hernandez on board.

Over at the Spa the Saratoga Derby Gr 1 is over 1900m turf with nine starters.  The raiders have come flying in and Diego Velazquez is on 2/1 for O'Brien-Moore and the son of Frankel will find his strongest opposition coming from the Godolphin Sea The Stars product Legend of Time for Appleby-Buick.  Cugino is on 3/1 for McCaughey and Irad Ortiz – he's by Twirling Candy.

The Test is Gr 1 is over 1400m for the 3yo fillies with only 6 running.  Ways And Means is on 7/5 for Brown-Prat - she's by Practical Joke and stablemate Emery is on 5/2 with Gaffalione booked to ride the daughter of More Than Ready.

The Troy is Gr2 over 1100m turf and there are 11+1 starters.  Cogburn is on 4/5 for

Asmussen – I Ortiz ahead of Godolphin's Mischief Magic for Appleby-Buick on 6/1 and Grooms All Bizness 8/1 for J Duarte- D Davis.

The Whitney is Gr1 over 1800m with 12 starters.  Baffert's National Treasure is on 9/5 with Prat riding and having won her over 1600m is favourite here on 9/5.  First Mission is on 9/2 for Cox-Geroux, Bright Future 5/1 for Pletcher-Castellano and a roughie here in Tumbarumba on 20/1 with no Aussie links that we can find so just for fun.
