Racing and Sports highlight our standout plays at Australian TAB meetings for May 20.
Major metropolitan meetings are today held at Rosehill, Flemington, Doomben, Morphettville and Belmont Park.
ROSEHILL: RACE 6 @ 1:55 PM
REDIENER (5) caught the eye with a big finish at Gosford over 1600m and has been well backed early. Strikes a similar race here and draws to sit closer so it's easy to see the appeal. MONEY FROM THE SKY (4) got up the inside of a handy one at this course and distance last start in BM78 grade. Up sharply in weight but does drop in grade and has a touch of class. PESHMERGA (3) looks the value. She made her Australian debut behind Money From The Sky, leading the field and sticking on well for fourth. Strips fitter and is a listed winner in Germany. TOKEN CAPITALIST (7) raced on the pace and got the job done at Gosford, beating home Rediener. He should give a bold sight again.
SELECTIONS: Peshmerga each-way.
As a FREE Racing and Sports offer, below is the Rosehill Computer Card.
DOOMBEN: RACE 2 @ 12:18 PM
BRIGANTINE (1) has a duck egg next to his name but that fresh effort was much better than it appears on paper having settled back but chased well to be beaten 1.7L at Listed level. Fitter for it and he goes up to a distance where he races well so looks nicely placed with a big class drop. LOVES ME LIKEAROCK (10) has returned in good order having placed fresh before leading throughout for a last-start win at Eagle Farm. Has won third up before so could go on with it. STARZAM (8) and HATCHET (4) are both each way players after putting together a string of top-four finishes while MADAME DU GAST (15) put the writing on the wall when placed last time and will be peaking now.
SELECTIONS: Brigantine is well placed for a second up win.
MORPHETTVILLE: RACE 5 @ 1:52 PM
FOXY FRIDA (9) has returned in terrific order this prep, going desperately close to making it two on the bounce last when beaten half a length in the G2 Queen Of The South Stakes. Shoulders a handy record over the track and trip and gets in lighter from a favourable gate . Will be very hard to beat. SO SI BON (4) is as true as the day is long. Sees the track for the first time but carries very attractive form lines. Sure to be competitive. PARTY PRINCESS (10) made very light work of her rivals last start in Listed company. Scopey type who gets in very low at weights as a three-year-old filly. Will be threatening. SILENT SOVEREIGN (2) next best.
SELECTIONS: Foxy Frida the one to beat.
BELMONT PARK: RACE 3 @ 3:10 PM
FEAR THE WIND (3) is hard to go past with successive Ascot wins in the past month at this trip. Only up 1kg on last time and just needs to bring her form to Belmont and she takes beating. CISCOJOE (4) is always around the mark at this level and not far off another win after four placings on end. Definite chance. SLUICE BOX (1) and DEVONIA (7) have claims.
SELECTIONS: Fear The Wind to win. Trifecta 3-1,4,7/1,4,7.
FLEMINGTON: RACE 5 @ 4:05PM
Took a good horse to reel in KEATS (6) last time as he bounced back from the All Star Mile to show the sort of form that had him close up in Group races over the summer. He will get the run of things off the front end again this time and it will once again take a good performance to run him down. PINSTRIPED (3) can meet that brief. Plain in the rain two back but he found his race last time and made the most of it. Given time since then and that can suit. FLASH AAH (12) ran really well first up and has a hope, while they reach for blinkers with VISINARI (8) now after he disappointed last time. Might not have come right up this campaign but wary of his talent.
SELECTIONS: Siding with Keats on speed.
