Major metropolitan meetings are today held at Flemington, Belmont, Broome, Donald, Ipswich, Murray Bridge, Narrandera and Toowoomba.

FLEMINGTON: RACE 7 @ 3:20 PM

OCEANA BLUE (6) was terrific first up in a race that worked out well and was even better last time with a stronger pace to run at. That was back at a mile and shaping as though this longer trip is going to suit better. SECRET GLAMOUR (5) hasn't done a lot of winning but she was okay in the Oaks in Sydney and very sound behind NATURAL MYSTIC (3) here last time. She has been kept fresh since then while Natural Mystic has run again. Just fair on that occasion and now has to bounce back but he remains promising. THE CLAIMANT (4) comes through the same races and is learning as he goes. One that could improve plenty without surprising.
SELECTIONS: Oceana Blue is a good horse ready to knock one off

BELMONT PARK: RACE 7 @ 3:40 PM

OTHERONESON (3) looks an exciting type and he scored an arrogant win against older horses off a five week break. Fitter for that, back to three-year-olds and is the one to beat. DEVOTED (1) is the logical danger after two strong wins this time in. Placed in the WA Guineas at only try this trip. Respect. ROKANORI (2) ran on well to finish runner-up to Devoted last time and he will also relish the extra journey here. SEARCHIN' ROC'S (6) and BLACK FANTASY (4) are good place chances but probably can't beat the top two.
SELECTIONS: Otheroneson to win. Trifecta 3-1,2,4,6/1,2,4,6.

BROOME: RACE 4 @ 2:50 PM

IN THE BAG (3) raced on the pace last start and found plenty to get the prize by 3.5 lengths over 1435m at this track. Drawn to take a nice trail just off the pace. The one they have to get past. LUKE'S CHOICE (5) was beaten 3.5 lengths into second when returning from a spell and tackling a dirt track for the first time last start over 1435m at this track. Will strip much fitter and can play a big role. NEVARDA (8) is back from a spell of nine months. Closed last prep with a fourth, beaten 30 lengths, over 1850m at Meekatharra. Sure to be competitive. KORANIS (4) lined up for new trainer Carey Martin last start and was having his first attempt on a dirt track when ninth, beaten 9 lengths, at this track over 1200m. Handled this surface nicely last time and can sneak into the finish.
SELECTIONS: In The Bag to win.

DONALD: RACE 6 @ 3:01 PM

PRECIOUS SOCKS (3) finally got on board with a dominant all-the-way win on the Ballarat synthetic last time. Was overdue for that win and can go on with it here. SAN MARINO (2) is returning from a break. Has excellent first-up credentials with a win and a second from only two previous preparations. Should give this a shake. MISS SOLUCA (5) was placed at Werribee three starts back and subsequent efforts just fair. Capable of filling a place in this company. WASABI (10) led them up and faded out of it at Swan Hill last week. Previous form had been sound. Can bounce back.
SELECTIONS: Back Precious Socks to win.

IPSWICH: RACE 4 @ 1:28 PM

SEE MARIE (4) worked home when resuming and flies second up winning three of four attempts. Has trialled since the fresh effort so will have come on and won her only attempts at both the course and the distance. Ticks a few boxes. JAKAMA (6) has the hoof on the till having run on to place at both runs this time in. Missed by just a head last start and will relish getting up to a distance where he is a three-time winner. OLYMPIC CLASS (7) found winning form from this same draw at Gold Coast last start when closing strongly. Building a handy record. WITHOUT THINKING (12) races well here and can show more third up while FACTORY WARRIOR (3) was close up last time and has a good record at this trip.
SELECTIONS: Looks a good race for See Marie. Backing to win.

MURRAY BRIDGE: RACE 6 @ 2:27 PM

HANABI (4) has trialled nicely for her return, winning both outings in dominant fashion. She was consistent last time in handy company and looks to have improved. Is well up to this grade and should be hard to beat. OAKFIELD GERONIMO (2) boxed on well at a big price in a tougher race first up. Drops sharply in grade but can regress second up so be wary. SIDEARM (3) ran on strongly over this track and distance last time out and will be hard to hold out again.
SELECTIONS: Hanabi to win.

NARRANDERA: RACE 3 @ 2:06 PM

WORD ON THE STREET (12) lines up on the back of a 4.5 lengths fifth over 1200m at Pakenham. Nicely placed and expected to go well. BEANS (8) returns from a spell of nine weeks. Yet to win first up but generally runs well with four minor placings from six tries. Has switched to the Paul Mcvicar stable over the break. Backmarker who gets home hard. One of the leading chances. RUBILAND (5) was safely held last time out when ninth over 1600m at Swan Hill four months back. Has to be respected. FALREINE (9) showed good speed and fought on for third over 1000m at Wagga last time. Hasn't been far away this time in work with three minor placings from four starts. Solid claims on best form.
SELECTIONS: Word On The Street to win.

TOOWOOMBA: RACE 8 @ 8:50 PM

BOOM BY BY (1) has been unlucky on more than one occasion and probably should have won a race by now. He still has some maturing to do but with a three kilo claim and from the perfect inside draw he looks the one to beat. SKATER (14) showed good improvement at her last start when finishing runner up to a smart type prior to going for a spell. She has had a quiet trial to prepare for this assignment and with the blinkers applied she should be right in the finish. YUPPIE (6) made an encouraging return to the race track with a late finishing burst on this track for his second placing. He will be that much sharper second up and will appreciate the extra one hundred metres on offer. He is due a winning turn. TOMBOY'S SPIRIT (13) came from near last when fresh up and did well to finish runner up, she strips fitter this evening and shouldn't be a maiden much longer. Include in all combinations.
SELECTIONS: Boom By By win bet.
