"It's just fantastic to win a race for the Peters family. It has been a bit of a haul, actually.
"To win this one, I'll go home happy.
"Bob said to me to only run him on a Heavy 10 and I thought I'll never get to run this horse.
"I was worried about the races getting called off yesterday, to be honest.
"Just great to get a horse like him. He's a real mudlark, isn't he."
A few horses have tested patience lately: "They have, to be honest. They're in the sales in Queensland today. Inspirational Girl, Graceful Girl - they'll really need to go to the paddock as broodmares so it'll be interesting to see how they go today.
"There's a few nice horses there. They need wet tracks. We've got a wet track so just find the wettest spot."
Winning Jockey: Billy Egan
"We were just speaking before the race that it isn't a Heavy 10. It is for deadset swimmers - a Heavy 14, and most of the winners are swimmers getting through it.
"John is turning the horses out in good order (but) we're just getting tough conditions."
Return from injury: "It is nice to be back and recognised for working hard by big owners by Bob with good horses over here now."
