"He rode him a treat. I think when Warning couldn't go and he got up on his outside and got around him it was pretty positive from there on.

"He relaxes very well and he's done so well up here.

"I thought the 60-kilos was the only worry. I knew he'd get the journey and I didn't worry about the barrier because he gets back anyway. But I thought the 60-kilos was the hurdle.

Is he enjoying being at Magic Millions as much as he used to: "Yeah, I do. I've got my son Nathan, he's the backbone of the stable. It makes it a lot easier."

"He's showed it as a three-year-old and a couple of good runs in that prep but this preparation every run has been really good without much luck and he's probably starting to find up to the distance that he's looking for now.

"We had a wider gate and a bit of weight but he was relaxed for the first half of the race and the pace was genuine enough where I was able to work my way into it and I was there quickly on the scene."
