Morphettville Races Review on 25th June 2022

Plumpton trainer Patrick Payne continued his good run when the two-year-old The Guava won the 1100 metre opening race at Morphettville on Saturday.

Having the services of Todd Pannell, The Guava  settled well before going on to record consecutive wins.

After winning at Swan Hill, Classy Kenny made it consecutive wins when he took out the 1200 metre second race.

Prepared at Murray Bridge by John Hickmott and Carrina Riggs the Jeffrey Maund guided Classy Kenny came from a better than midfield position to bring up win number two from eleven starts.

Murray Bridge trainer Garret Lynch brought up another winner when Smiling Assassin took out the 2500 metre third race.

Bringing up successive wins the Eran Boyd piloted Smiling Assassin came from well back in the field with a strong run over the concluding stages.

The succession of last start winners continued when Legless Lady took out the 1200 metre fourth race.

Guided to victory by Jason Holder the Leon and Andrew Gluyas prepared Legless Lady came from worse than midfield to record her second win from her sixth start.

Patrick Payne landed the second leg of his double when another last start winner Another Rally won the 1524 metre fifth race.

Having the services of Michelle Payne Another Rally came from a midfield position with a strong run in the straight to record his second win from as many starts.

The six-year-old gelding Sacred Palace  broke the spell of last start winners when he took out the 1200 metre sixth race.

Coming out of the Warrnambool stable of Lindsay Smith the Jarod Fry ridden Sacred Palace came from a rear of the field with a strong run in the straight.

Horseman Will Clarken was well pleased with the win of his charge Noname Lane in the 1600 metre seventh race.

Ridden by apprentice Ben Price, Noname Lane raced one off the pace before going on to win.

Pakenham trainer Michael Huglin continued the winning vein of interstate trainers when his gelding Jabali Ridge took out the 1050 metre eighth race.

Having the services of Kayla Crowther Jabali Ridge was well placed.

Patrick Payne finished the day off as he started when the win of Mr Pickwick gave Payne a treble in the 1800 metre final event.

Ridden by Payne's sister Michelle, giving her a double, Mr Pickwick came from a better than midfield position with a strong run over the concluding stages.
