Old Flame is a new face for Snowden Racing and he will be out to make his presence felt at Gosford.
Hollindale Stakes hopeful Huetor and emerging import Old Flame are completely different types of horses, but they do have something in common.
Not only are both European imports for Peter and Paul Snowden, they both arrived in Australia at a similar class level and hit the ground running.
While Huetor won his first three starts before resuming with an encouraging third at Randwick to earn a spot on the stable's Brisbane winter carnival team, Old Flame also kicked off with a victory and was unlucky not to make it two when runner-up at Caulfield last start.
"I like the horse. He is the same as Huetor in that he came over as a benchmark 72," Peter Snowden said.
"(But) he's a different horse altogether. Huetor is a stayer, a mile-and-a-half horse and this horse is a sprinter-miler.
"He won his first start in Melbourne and he was just a bit unlucky not to win his second start there at Caulfield, he was held up and got a little bit too far back but he got home nicely."
Old Flame will make his NSW debut in the $500,000 The Coast (1600m) at the stand-alone Gosford meeting on Saturday.
He has the inside gate and at $9.50 is one of just three runners at single-figure odds, along with favourite Our Playboy ($4.60) and Diamil ($5), who will wear blinkers for the first time after being beaten as an odds-on favourite in heavy conditions at Randwick last start.
Old Flame has experience racing in the clockwise direction overseas and win, lose or draw on Saturday, Peter Snowden believes he has a good future.
"He is a nice horse going forward. You will hear a bit more about him," he said.
