The elite thoroughbreds are in Perth to compete in the world's only single-track festival featuring a Group One race worth $1,000,000 over three consecutive Saturdays.

Bright blue skies and a large crowd of enthusiastic racegoers contributed to the occasion making it a perfect start to Ascot's million dollar racing event.

Local crowd favourite Regal Power with WA superstar jockey William Pike secured the win of the $1,000,000 Kirin-Railway Stakes. Godolphin's Best of Days secured second, and third was Platoon.

The Group Two Sky Racing-WA Guineas was no less contentious with Parnham trained War Saint with son and local hoop Chris Parnham aboard for first place, followed by fellow WA jockey and brother Steven Parnham aboard Kay Cee in second and Red Can Man in third.

"This has been a fantastic day for Perth Racing fans, with a Group One, a Group Two and four Listed races rounding out a simply magnificent Kirin Railway Stakes Day. We are wrapped with the caliber of racing with this iconic Perth event series and are gearing up for the Crown Perth-Winterbottom Stakes, Australia's last Group One sprint of the year," said Perth Racing's Managing Director, Professor John Yovich.

"This year's event illustrates the TABtouch Masters has firmly established itself as an iconic Perth attraction and a must-do on the Australian racing calendar," said Yovich.

Now in its fourth year the TABtouch Masters has lured 16 top-class interstate horses and a competitor from New Zealand for this year's event, including several distinguished stables such as Godolphin, James Cummings and Lindsey Smith.

To wrap up a sensational day, Perth's premier concert band Felix WA took to the stage, live from Ascot's Mounting Yard, directly after the last race.  In a move designed to get the after-party started, Felix WA provided a repertoire of crowd-pleasers classics and a number of fresh new tracks.

The TABtouch Masters consists of three consecutive $1,000,000 Group One race days at Ascot Racecourse – with Crown Perth Winterbottom Stakes Day running next Saturday, 30 November and Magic Millions Kingston Town Classic Day the weekend after, Saturday 7 December.
