Imported stayer Storm The Stars will be returning to the UK after failing to win in two preparations in Australia for the Chris Waller stable.
Storm The Stars arrived in Australia late last year amid much fanfare due to his high class UK form that included a win in the G2 Great Voltigeur Stakes at York and G1 placings in the English and Irish Derbys.
Storm The Star compounded after leading in the Metropolitan to finish last with a subsequent veterinary examination revealing that he had pulled up lame and required treatment.
The Waller stable has since advised stewards that Storm The Stars had undergone nuclear scintigraphy which revealed the horse had sustained a muscle tear to its right hind hamstring.Subsequent discussions with the entire’s owner Sheikh Juma Dalmook Al Maktoum have resolved that the stayer will be returning to the UK where he was previously trained by William Haggas.
