Trainer Ken Keys’ smart stallion jumped to the front over 800 metres, leading under a good hold from Damien Oliver.

Rich Enuff lengthened stride nicely in the straight under no pressure to win by a length over Royal Snitzel in 48.38 on heavy 8 track.

One of the star three-year-olds of the Melbourne spring last year, Rich Enuff is expected to make his comeback in The Heath Stakes at Caulfield on Saturday week after missing the autumn carnival.

The Group 1 Rupert Clarke Stakes (1400m) could be on the stallion’s agenda if he returns to the track in top form.

Golden Rose-bound three-year-old Ready For Victory is also closing in on a return to the track after finishing runner up in his second trial of the spring.

The colt sat midfield and was urged along in the straight by Mark Zahra to get within a nose of Tantric in 47.63, one of the faster 800m heats of the morning.

Ready For Victory is expected to resume in the McNeil Stakes at Caulfield on Saturday week as his lone lead-up run to the Group 1 Golden Rose Stakes (1400m) in Sydney on September 12.

His Mick Price-trained stablemate Prince of Brooklyn finished strongly along the rails under riding from Dale Smith to win his 800 metre trial in 47.28.

The Caulfield Guineas-bound three-year-old sat back in the field but finished off well to narrowly eclipse Bob of the Head.

The unbeaten colt is also likely to resume in the McNeil and still holds a nomination for the Golden Rose.
