The Mark Kavanagh-trained Super Cool has passed away after succumbing to a leg infection.
News only emerged of the Group 1 winner’s passing due to a leg infection on Wednesday morning.
Super Cool had 15 starts for four wins and five minor placings while amassing more than $1.5million in prizemoney earnings.
He enjoyed his biggest successes as a three-year-old, winning both the Group 1 Australian Cup (2000m), the Group 2 Moonee Valley Vase (2040m) and also the Group 2 Autumn Classic at Caulfield.
The Fastnet Rock gelding had an ongoing battle with the Anthony Cummings-trained Fiveandahalfstar who got the better of Super Cool on his home track when beating him in the 2012 Victoria Derby (2500m).
