Vashka will head to the spelling paddock a winner after making it five successes on the trot at Rosehill.
The John O’Shea-trained gelding has worked through his grades in clinical fashion this preparation which has culminated with a soft win over 1350m at Rosehill on Saturday.
Vashka through the course of his latest campaign has recorded five wins and a second on resuming from six starts.
“He has had a great prep, he keeps improving and Blake [Shinn] has a great affinity with the horse,” Stable Representative Tom Ward said.
“He has that cruising speed which puts the other horses under pressure coming around the bend where he seems to be suited very well. Once he kicks, he just keeps going.”
After five straight wins this preparation, Vashka will commence his next campaign in open company.
“The plan was to put him out for a couple of weeks and bring him back for the late autumn and maybe into Brisbane but it could change,” Ward said.
“He is a lovely horse to have in the stable and the team have done such a great job with him.
“It is a good way to finish the prep.”
It was the second leg of a race to race double for jockey Blake Shinn after enjoying a similarly clinical success aboard Craftiness in Race 5.
The talented jockey sits prominently in the Sydney Jockey’s Premiership with more than 40 winners at this point of the season.
Five of them have been recorded aboard Vashka.“It makes my job very easy,” Shinn said.
“He is a push button horse to ride.
“He is going from strength to strength this horse, he puts himself in a spot and he keeps raising the bar. When it is time to go he really quickens and when you ask him for an effort at the 200m he digs again.
“He is a winner and I really enjoy riding him.”
There was an abundance of talent on show at Rosehill on Saturday with Vashka part of a progressive group of winners during the program also including Craftiness and Gold Seventy Seven.
