Lankan Rupee To Face Eight In Mcewen

Lankan Rupee has drawn the outside barrier for his first up outing in the Group 2 McEwen Stakes at Moonee Valley on Saturday.

Nine runners will contest the McEwen Stakes with Lankan Rupee jumping from the widest alley.

The champion sprinter is expected to have no issue accounted for his eight rivals with his main opposition in the loosest sense of the word including Unpretentious and Eloping.

Lankan Rupee has opened up as the $1.25 favourite for the McEwen Stakes with TAB Sportsbet Fixed Odds.

It will be the first run of a spring campaign in which Lankan Rupee will contest the Moir Stakes, the Manikato Stakes and the Darley Classic at Flemington.

A trip to Hong Kong for their international sprint in December is also on the agenda.
