With Jason Lyon in the saddle, Geegees Blackflash settled near last in the small field of six and stayed near the rear until he found clear racing room nearing the home turn.

He then slipped into another gear and cruised past the leader Another Lad Al and he held a comfortable margin over that horse to the finishing post.

Royal Miswaki ran on gamely for third ahead of Ollie’s Gold.

It was Geegees Blackflash’s 19th win from 56 starts and took the gelding’s prizmeoney to $965,800, all amassed in Tasmania.

However he will have to wait until next season to be the first horse to win a million dollars solely in Tasmania as he will be heading to the spelling paddock this week.

Top mare Isibaeva added another feature race to her impressive tally when she took out the Fillies and Mares’ Autumn Classic over 1400m on Sunday with ridiculous ease.

Isibaeva confirmed her status as the state’s best sprinting mare when she powered home to win the G3 Bow Mistress Trophy in Hobart in February.

She followed up with a luckless third to Rebel Bride and Miss Stellabelle in the G3 Vamos Stakes over 1400 metres in Launceston but came back with an eye-catching second over 1100m in before an effortless win over 1200m two weeks ago.

Admiral confirmed his status as Tasmani’s 2YO of the Year when he toyed with his rivals to win the Tasmanian Sires Produce Stakes at his first 1400m start on Sunday.

The Barry Campbell-trained Mossman gelding has now six of hiss even starts including the last five in succession.
