Champion country jockey Greg Ryan landed his fourth win in the Soldier's Saddle victory at Bathurst on Anzac day with the widely travelled on Fusakeo.

It was a benchmark day for the 46-year-old Dubo based jockey as he won three races to bring p his 150th career win at Bathurst's Tyers Park course. It wa also his third successive win in the Soldier's Saddle.

Ryan won his first Soldier's Saddle on Branch Of Gold back in 2003, followed by Pimpala Secret (2011) and Ideal Position (2012).

Fusakeo, who started its career in Sydney with Gai Waterhouse, is now trained in Orange by Brian Buckley.

Now a seven-year-old Fusakeo came to Buckley after he had left Waterhouse to race in Perth.

“He's our first Soldier’s Saddle win. We had a runner once before but it didn’t do any good," Buckley said.

“We’ll go to the Gooree Cup at Mudgee next. We think he will be better over 1600 metres.

Ryan hadn’t ridden Fusakeo before but was well aware of the horse’s background.

"Gai Waterhouse had him originally and then he went over to Western Australia and lost all his form," Ryan said.

"This was his fourth run back for Brian and every run has just been a little bit better."

"I thought after his last run he had a pretty fair chance of winning."

Ryan notched up his 3000th career win earlier this month and is a certainty to land another NSW country riding premiership.
