Chris Scholtz - Early Thoughts

R&S Contributing Editor Chris Scholtz takes a look at tomorrow’s Sydney racing.

SELECTIONS

Rosehill Race 5 - 9 Rose Of Man

Any horse that can run a faster final 600m on the same day as Winx is obviously in good form and that’s what this restricted class sprinter did running fourth over 1000m at Randwick last Saturday when getting home in a brilliant closing sectional of 32.57 seconds.

She rises 2.5kg off that effort but is something to bet on if she holds that form, noting that she boasts a perfect in the money record of a win and two placings from her three Rosehill starts over this trip.

Rosehill Race 8 - 3 Allergic

Was obviously still below peak condition but showed just how much he likes the Rosehill track when he proved too good for his rivals over 1800m at this course on August 13 when second up from a spell.

No doubt he will be fitter and is drawn to enjoy all the favours in the run.

Rosehill Race 9 - 9 Cannyescent

Trainer Gabrielle Englebrecht says she will be disappointed if this talented sprinter doesn’t go close to atoning for an unlucky first-up second and I have to agree with her.

He is 4kg better off at the weights for his first-up second to Chetwood over 1250m on a chopped out heavy track at Canterbury when he endured a chequered run after slow start and will get his chance over the extra 100m on this bigger track.
