Watch these in coming runs

Timeform highlight three horses to follow in the coming weeks off promising recent performances.

1. Crystal Dreamer - Pakenham, Thu 26 May

It's always some concern taking form from synthetic tracks over to the turf but Crystal Dreamer is certainly talented enough to make his mark in stronger handicaps on Saturdays through the off season.

His win at Pakenham returned a Timeform rating of 93p - way above average for a Class 1 - and the overall time was one of the strongest recorded at the relatively new course.

The runner up has already stepped out to win and the third placed Galaxy Raider is a promising horse himself. We can take some confidence in Crystal Dreamer taking his form to the turf with his maiden win at Kyneton last year also well above average.

2. Rock Of Mahal - Warwick Farm, Wed 1 June

Few stables are going better than the Bjorn Baker yard at present and horses like Rock Of Mahal can keep him among the winners through the winter months. Returned a strong winner at Warwick Farm, returning a Timeform rating of 81p that he looks sure to build on in a hurry.

He was easy enough to back first up which can be a pointer to there being plenty of improvement to come on that run and he should relish a step up in trip.

3. Duke Of Brunswick - Sandown, Sat 4 June

More exposed than our first two to follow but there are wins in store over the winter months for Duke Of Brunswick.

A Timeform rating of 93 has been good enough to see him competitive in both runs this preparation so far but there is plenty of room for improvement - he spiked to his peak of 101 at his third run back last prep and a similar spike this campaign would leave off season handicappers with plenty to beat when he steps out next.

That improvement will come if he can get a strong gallop as he tends to get very keen and, given that, it is no surprise to see that his career peak came with a patient jockey in Nick Hall aboard. A similar riding switch next time would have to be taken as a positive lead.
