Finally gets his first crack at 1600m this preparation after four starts in shorter races where his efforts have stamped him as a horse crying out for more ground.
Significantly his only win was over 1600m on an affected track at Randwick last season and he is well placed under similar conditions here after his closing fourth behind Hermosa Beach over 1400m at Randwick two weeks ago.
Meets that horse 5kg better over the trip he needs.
Rosehill Race 8 - 12 Painted Firetail
Promising Lonhro filly from the Godolphin yard holds considerable scope for improvement off her strong closing second to River Wild over 1200m at Randwick on January 16.
That was just her third career start, having displayed considerable potential with a win on debut last season and a placing at her only outing last spring.
Certain to be suited by this extra trip and appeals strongly as a type to keep improving with experience.
Rosehill Race 9 - 6 Le Cordon Bleu
Back to his right class from the Magic Millions where his effort to finish third in a hot 1100m open sprint in fast time was excellent, making up six lengths over the last 250m after settling in the back half of the field.
That placing came after strong efforts in two Sydney starts since resuming and this should be his chance to add to his good record as there looks to be plenty of early speed to break up the field and help him overcome an awkward gate.
Prized Icon - Good prospect for longer 2YO races.
Archean - Genuine stayer ready for step up in distance.Challenge Accepted - Flashing finish. Up to city class.
Trust In A Gust - Nice return from a class act.Reddson - Would have gone close with a better run.
