Chris Scholtz - Early Thoughts

R&S Contributing Editor Chris Scholtz takes a look at tomorrow’s Sydney racing.

SELECTIONS

Kensington Race 2 - 7 Terai

Comes back to Sydney after taking on much tougher Melbourne carnival races where her two efforts have her set to take on 2400m for just the second time in her career, her first attempt being last season in the G1 QTC Oaks when she came from near last in a big field for a creditable midfield finish.

She went south after winning over 1600m at Warwick Farm second up and she could not be better placed dropping back to this grade from Group company and getting weight from all her rivals.

Kensington Race 6 - 3 Perplexity

Primed to improve on his last start second in this class at Randwick when he just failed to get the better of Plutorious over 1800m when having only his second run off a spell.

Gets a positive riding switch to the inform jockey Blake Shinn and his proven liking for the Kensington track enhances his chances.

Kensington Race 7 - 13 God's In Him

The astute Hawkes stable showed their hand when they brought this lightly raced 5YO straight to Sydney off a first-up maiden win at Seymour and he was stiff not to get the money when a luckless fifth behind Enormous Honour over 1400m at Randwick two weeks ago.

Obviously he has the talent to go further and can take the next step here as he has the weights in his favour to make the necessary improvement against a similar field.
