The Trial Files team look to find you a few for Saturday

Racing And Sports is pleased to introduce for punters the services from The Trial Files. Their team specialise in viewing Barrier Trials from Victoria, NSW and WA and analyse them for future race performances.

The Trial Files don’t just provide recommended selections but also provide a full trial review service which delivers information for all punters to use. They aim to educate people on trial information and stimulate wagering on those horses in the process.

Please find below some of their best for the weekend based on recent trials around the country.

1. Moonee Valley Race 5 – 7 Splash Of Moet

TRIAL COMMENTS

Clear pick of its heat was SPLASH OF MOET. She cruised along very comfortably on speed in the early stages and was travelling the best of all runners in the early part of the straight. She was cuddled to the line and could have clearly put this field away if the jockey had desired. This mare put in a super jump out before resuming for the Moody stable last preparation and she subsequently got the job done first up. She is again in super order and can definitely improve on her already brilliant first up record.

SUMMARY

There looks reasonable speed here with GRAND GALLOP (if she gets a run), SNIPETEE BEE and GIRL GUIDE fighting for the lead early. ESPRIT ROSSA will likely end up buried on the rail just shy of midfield. SPLASH OF MOET doesn’t need to be too far away from the good gate.

SPLASH OF MOET did not jump well first up at Flemington and wanted to race with her head to one side early. She came off the bit about 350M from home and was racing very erratically at that point. She eventually worked into her rhythm late and was doing her best work on the line. Love that she is up to 1200M here, think that suits here now. After the claim for the inform Regan Bayliss she gets in very well here and looks extremely hard to beat. Loading up on a 1 X 3 basis here.

ESPRIT ROSSA is resuming after a luckless run last preparation. She looks to have come back in super order here but the inside draw does pose some concerns as she will need luck late. If she gets clear room over the concluding stages she can definitely figure in the finish but we do feed she will be better suited second up. Consider her for all multiples. GIRL GUIDE comes up the favourite here and has to be a chance. She had a very good first preparation and those recent jump outs were good enough to suggest she has come back in good order. She has had one go at MV for a narrow defeat and should be suited up on speed. Concede she is a chance, but think she is a touch under the odds.

Very keen SPLASH OF MOET each way and find it hard to see how she misses a hole.

2. Moonee Valley Race 8 – 2 Kencella

TRIAL COMMENTS

KENCELLA showed his customary speed and led comfortably here. Travelled extremely well and was under a stranglehold throughout. Could have gone much quicker but love the fact he wouldn't let the second horse passed him in the straight. Lovely trial by a smart horse.

SUMMARY

Brilliant race. Speed to burn here but just cannot see any horse matching the tactical speed of KENCELLA and think he leads easily. MINAJ is just about the quickest early horse Victoria has and she will likely push forward and chase KENCELLA. JUST A BULLET adds extra speed. Think ICONIC will be near enough last and SHAMAL WIND somewhere near midfield.

Based on that jump out at Flemington KENCELLA could well blow them away here. Concede that this is probably as good a race as he has contested – with the exception of the Galaxy which was raced on a heavy track – but he looks to have come back in amazing order for his new trainer, Chris Waller. The Valley should suit him and he will bounce straight to the front and give them an almighty task to chase him down the short straight.

Think the blow out horse is ICONIC. He is a beast first up. HE should be unbeaten first up and will get a solid speed up front which really suits this horse. That recent trial suggested he had come back as well as ever and he will be storming down the centre of the track. SHAML WIND is definitely a winning hope. She is three from three first up and four from four over the 1000m! She too will enjoy the strong tempo up front and as mentioned, she trialled super in the lead up to this resumption. Amazing to think we are not recommending a strong bet on her with that record and on the back of that trial, but this probably does look her most difficult first up assignment and we feel there are two with stronger chances!

ANGELIC LIGHT is coming off a long spell and she strikes a very strong race here fist up! She hasn’t raced for 66 weeks but at her best she is a very smart mare. Do think she will be better second up when getting to 1200M but she does love the Valley and should get a sweet run off the strong tempo. Probably can’t win here but will be one to follow as she gets into her preparation. VILLA VERDE looks to have come back well too. She was transferred to the Anthony Cummings yard last preparation and really came on as a horse. She is another who will be suited by the strong tempo and she did chase down SNITZERLAND first up last time in. This is her first visit back to Victoria since going off the boil a touch for Shaun Dwyer and we are happy to risk her at her first Valley appearance.

Having a strong bet on KENCELLA as think he might just run them off their legs. Saving ICONIC and SHAMAL WIND in what is a super race.

3. Randwick Race 7 (4) Gypsy Diamond & (6) Bennetta

TRIAL COMMENTS

GYPSY DIAMOND - Trapped a little wide throughout in the last half of the field but had cover. Untested in the straight and worked home nicely enough.

BENNETTA - Hard not to like this trial. Settled second last on the outside. Peeled wide and came with a lovely run under no pressure. Will be better for the run but cruised up and went nicely. Under much less pressure than others.

SUMMARY

THUMP can lead here from 11 with MISS PROMISCUITY up there also. With the scratching of NEENA ROCK, LESLEY’S CHOICE gains a start and she can add to the speed and possibly lead if desired. The heavy track and testing conditions may favour horses that come into this race with a bit of fitness although 7 of the 15 acceptances are first-up.

A fascinating race this and a good betting affair. One blackbooker has been scratched but we definitely liked the way BENNETTA went in her recent hitout. She did have a bit of fitness coming into that trial but she hit the line well under very little pressure. Her run in similar grade on a heavy track in April behind Flamberge and Hot Snitzel shows that she can handle these conditions and no surprise to see her be around the mark today.

Followers of The Trial Files know how much we fancied GYPSY DIAMOND last preparation and she didn’t let us down running some huge races including a superb placing at massive odds first-up before going on to win a Group 3 and running second in the $1m Queen Of The Turf during The Championships. The daughter of Not a Single Doubt is a very talented mare and loves the sting out of the track. A deserved favourite and expect her to be charging late.

As stated, this is a really interesting race, made difficult by the testing conditions. Have to think that GYPSY DIAMOND gets a lot in her favour and feel she is the horse to beat. Our blackbooker BENNETTA can definitely figure and can’t be left out at $11. No surprise to see an upset in this race with some lesser class horses down in the weights with race fitness on their side and an ability to handle wet tracks. MISS PROMISCUITY may be that horse. Tough.
