It was an extraordinary day of racing on Day 2 of The Championships at Randwick under blue skies for a change.
The $4m G1 Queen Elizabeth Stakes was won by last year’s Derby winner It's A Dundeel in a fabulous contest and on a great day for the kiwis, the Oaks went to the kiwis too with Rising Romance.
But it was Gai Waterhouse, and especially Tommy Berry’s day, as they combined for the Queen Of The Turf on Diamond Drille and also in the Sydney Cup on The Offer as part of a treble.
Caulfield had two good races with Sistine Demon very impressive in the Victoria Hcp and Our Voodoo Prince likewise coming from a long way back in the Easter Cup.
