BLACKBOOKERS & TRIALS

Our Blackbook service provides punters with a great way to keep tabs on horses to follow. Remember you can always click on a horse from the Racing And Sports Database to blackbook it or go straight to our Blackbook section and maintain your stable runners there.

We’ve identified a few here from the last week which we think can make us some money in the near future.

Hucklebuck

How good did Hucklebuck look last time?

Was a moral beaten behind Lion Of Belfort at Moonee Valley two back and then won as easy as you would have liked at Caulfield last start. Came across to Melbourne with big raps, he has proceeded to live up to them and does appear open to further improvement moving forward. He is bred to be even better over further and should relish the step up to the mile if he does in fact line up in the Group 3 Carbine Club Stakes next start. Phillip Stokes is no stranger to success in Melbourne during carnival time and this fellow appears set to continue that trend.

Scratch Me Lucky

Had excuses on debut when trapped five-wide throughout and then showed sharp improvement at Randwick last start when a real eye catcher working home to finish second. Still don't think he knows what the inside rail is after he was again forced to travel wide from the poor draw. The time figures out of his latest performance have proven stronger than that of the Breeders' Plate and does appear a good piece of form moving forward. Also bred to be better over further so we expect him to be very hard to beat at his next start if he can finally draw a gate.

Triallers

Koroibete - Thursday 17 October @ Rosehill

Promising three-year-old who showed good ability in his maiden preparation having not been beaten far on debut before relishing the step up in trip second up when saluting over 1500m. Proved quite green on that occasion and was immediately put away by the Gerald Ryan stable having not been seen since June. Looks to have made good progression off a break and really liked the way he hit the line in his latest trial as he appears to have come on further. Out of a Zabeel mare he should only continue to improve as he gets out over further and is worth following this time in.

Eligible Blackbookers Racing This Weekend

Some of the recent runners that have been Blackbooked by us are engaged this weekend and we think should be included in your punting thoughts.

Rosehill Race 2 - 2 Chateau Lafaite

This Chris Waller trained filly is just trying so hard in her races and doing what most other members of the leading trainer’s team are and that is finding the line. She was a dual acceptor but they’ve decided to run in Race 2. Every horse in that race has won either their last or second to last start but the full sister to Royal Descent will be looking to show the more ground she gets over the better.
