This week's staking plan is a simple doubles strategy that plays on the early markets and is a simple permutation of four selections.

The plan can be applied to any two races or for running doubles and the Daily Double.

If both races are handicaps, take the 3rd and 4th in the pre-post market for each race and couple in doubles.

For example:-

FIRST RACE: A,B

SECOND RACE: C,D

DOUBLES: AC, AD, BC, BD

If one of the races in a handicap and the other a non-handicap, take the 3rd and 4th in the pre-post market for the handicap and take the 1st and 2nd in the market for the non-handicap and couple in doubles.

Statistically handicaps are more often won by ‘non-favourites’ which this system plays on.

Taking the 3rd and 4th in handicaps avoids likely favourites but also steers clear of unlikely outsiders.

Applying this to Caulfield this weekend we can play the running double through race 6, a non-handicap, and 7, a handicap, as shown.

CAULFIELD RACE 6: 1,4

CAULFIELD RACE 7: 4,5

DOUBLES: 1&4, 1&5, 4&4, 4&5

In Sydney we can play two handicaps, race 7 and 8

ROSEHILL RACE 7: 5,12

ROSEHILL RACE 8: 8,15

DOUBLES: 5&5, 5&15, 12&8, 12&15

Last week’s Top Weight system saw our selection Ragtime Cowboy Joe win at Newcastle paying $3.80. This week we have found Secret Harmony in race 2 at Doomben which matches the same criteria.
