While it is Doomben's turn to shine, attention is about to turn to Eagle Farm.

Mark Cruickshank from Betchoice has provided us with pre post market movers and how those races in Queensland are shaping up plus the Kings Stand in England. We'll keep you informed of the corresponding Betfair prices as well.

QLD OAKS (5/6/10)

Betting on the Oaks has opened this week and the race to look at was the Roses last week.

Dariana ran well and is currently the $3.50 fav with Betchoice. Having beaten the boys in Sydney she should be there too.

The filly who defeated her was Marheta and Mike Moroney is having a trot. He's also got a great Brisbane record of recent years with the likes of Sarrera, Eskimo Queen and Mr Baritone so the $6 might be fine.

Interesting newcomer is the recent Sydney winner Al Nakhla from the Waller yard who is also having a trot. She is $9.

QLD DERBY (12/6/10)

This week's Grand Prix is shaping as a dress rehearsal with so many of the main Derby hopefuls running in the lead up at Doomben.

Two who ran last week in Brisbane had differing fortunes. Dariana ran home nicely in the Roses and the filly is still holding a place well up the Derby betting at $10 Betfair despite the Oaks the first focus. However Sir Time Keeper did himself no favours by bolting on Chris Munce in the Doomben Cup and now backs up in the Grand Prix. He still sits at $9 Betchoice.

One from left field a bit was Fieldmaster who was decent at Caulfield. He backed up quickly into that race after running on the Monday and with a gap to the Derby he might run well at $14 Betchoice.

“No real action this week in the win book but plenty of action with the doubles with Kutchinsky the one the punters are putting in everything. We wrote a couple of big tickets into Ortensia to win the Stradbroke that will take out well over $150,000. The same punter coupled Kutchinsky with Latin News, King Mufhasa and Stryker in the Straddie to win $100,000.”

STRADBROKE HCP (12/6/10)

Obviously Stradbroke betting will be completely realigned after the 10,000 this week. Although while the double hasn't been done for yonks (Campaign King), the winner can be hidden away or at the very least running on.

Graceful Anna did ease out to $21 Betfair from her run in the Fred Best Classic but the winner Stryker came right into calculations. He's $12.50 Betfair and will be hard to beat if he gains that run after missing it in the 10,000.

Note that Rothesay is there in the markets after a slashing win at the mile but indications so far are that he'll target the Guineas in which Gerald Ryan has a great training record in.

“Much like the Doomben 10,000 book, the same punters that have backed Phelan Ready are also on at $51 and $41 to win the Stradbroke. I would urge punters to be careful with the likes of Stryker and Rothesay who may be targeted at the QLD Guineas instead of the Stradbroke.”

KING'S STAND STKS (15/6/10)

With the rousing track gallop and plans in place now, Nicconi remains a tight favourite around the world. He's $6.20 at Betfair but if he travels well and word filters back he's doing well that may not last.

Former Golden Jubilee and Nunthorpe winner Kingsgate Native has came back to form and is the clear second elect after his ½ length win in the Temple Stks at Haydock. $6.80 is about his price now.

Others out of that race are also in the frame like Equiano and Borderlescott.

“The big move has come for last start winner Kingsgate Native who is $11 into $6. We bet $6.50 after the win over the weekend which was taken by some astute punters. We continue to lay Gold Trail and it is now a haemorrhage at Betchoice with the last bet written at $13 sending the takeout over $150,000.”
