Vincent Ho gets third in German Oaks

The Preis der Diane's 166th edition had a different dimension this year.

Apart from attracting raiders from other parts of Europe it attracted Hong Kong star jockey Vincent Ho (famous for his association with Golden Sixty) who has been in Europe for the summer break.  Ho teamed up with Andreas Suborics, another former Hong Kong jockey before turning to training and took the ride on Lady Mary who ran a creditable third.  When we did our preview they were on 16/1 but started on 6/1 so looks like the whole of Hong Kong was backing him.

The equine raiders were out of luck as the winner was the home star Erle given a confident ride by Martin Seidl to win from the Wöhler trained Spanish Eyes.  Darnation and Je Zous finished fifth and sixth with Lingua Franca disappointing.
