Japanese Oaks 2022

The 83rd running of the Yushun Himba or Japanese Oaks G1 will take place at Tokyo on Sunday.

This is a tricky one to pick as few of the horses have tackled the 2400m and the uphill in the home straight at Tokyo can really sort them out.

In the Morning Line favourite is Circle of Life, a daughter of Epiphanea who won the G1 Hanshin Juvenile fillies last year however in the first leg of the triple crown she was beaten by Stars on Earth.  Mirco Demuro rides Circle of Life and Christophe Lemaire Stars on Earth – they are on 3.9 and 6.8.

Art House has firmed in the market and is now on 7.00 for the Screen Hero filly.  This is her first race outside of Hanshin but she has experience in races over 2000m.  Kawada rides.

Namur is by Harbinger and on 7.8 – she beat Circle of Life in the Tulip Sho, one of the regular preps for this race, and Erika Vita, by King Kamehameha won on debut and gets into the field after winning the Flora over 2000m.  She was unlucky in another race and could be the value go here on 9.7, with Fukunaga riding.
