Sunday's 2000 Guineas trial at Leopardstown was won by Light Heavy, a horse who is improving steadily with every run.
Tower Rock ran a blinder and it was a thrilling tussle in the straight with Light Heavy determined to find the line first. Wrote was disappointing - very one pace and 7 lengths back from the first two.
The 1000 Guineas trial went to Yellow Rosebud on her seasonal debut. The Dermot Weld trained filly was too good for her rivals, led home by Devotion and followed a short head after by Coral Wave.
