Friday's card is headlined by the G2 Cape Verde over 1600m on the turf for f&m with two Australian-bred South African trained runners amongst the 8 runners.
Mike de Kock saddles both Mahbooba, an impressive recent winner here, and Reem, a filly by Galileo out of a Danehill mare. Mahbooba is 6/4 and the stablemate a more generous 12/1. Some of these are having their first run for a while and in this First City and Rhythm of Light are both at 4/1.
The Singaporeans enter the picture in the 1200m Race 4 with Captain Obvious, ridden this time by Oscar Chavez as his regular rider was injured on Sunday. He's favourite here at 2/1 with Hitchens 5/1, Iver Bridge Lad 11/2 and Irish sprinter Invincible Ash following on a recent good 4th being value at 8/1.
On Saturday another of Steve Burridge's stable Ip Man is in the 7th race over 1400m on the AWT. Chavez, who rides him regularly, says he's not that far away from Dark Matter which makes his 20/1 look most attractive. Favourite for his is Primaeval at 4/1 with Jamie Spencer riding for James Fanshaw, and Zabarajad 0/2 with Johnny Murtagh riding for John Oxx.
