He was the class horse in the race and despite having to run wide was well ridden by his apprentice jockey to win and give his trainer a 4-timer for the day at Kranji.
It was also a treble for one of his owners John O'Neill who was in Singapore to enjoy the occasion. Better Be The One will now head to Dubai and will probably have two lead up races there before the World Cup day.
This was in the Open over 1000m on the polytrack. Finderskeepers ran a very nice race in coming second, Happy Everybody was third and Northern Lion fourth so we had a very nice result.
Earlier Michael Freedman got his third winner of the day when Distinction took out the BM 83 1400m. He looks like becoming a very nice horse indeed as he was too good for this field. Popi Popi ran second having been in the lead for a lot of the race, favourite Rafaga third and Grand Arrival fourth.
