Oxx after second UK win at Doncaster

With his first runner in England this season Alanza a winner in the Sceptre on Thursday, John Oxx is hoping to repeat the result with Saddler's Rock in the Doncaster Cup on Friday.

UK!

The Cup may be a slightly harder proposition as it is over 3600m and firstly Saddler's Rock has to get

the trip and then he has to get the better of Opinion Poll who looks a horse that will run all day if you

ask him nicely. Motorice is another that could make the final three here.

Alanza was in a tight finish with Dever Dream a neck away and Chachamaidee a head further back in

third. Jacqueline Quest went back to not liking being a racehorse and finished last.

In the Park Hill Meeznah got a lovely positive ride from Dettori and stormed home for a very easy 3 1/2

lengths win over The Queen's Set to Music who chased valiantly but vainly, and Polly't Mark who ran

third was a further 5 lengths away. Sense of Purpose would be an unlikely runner in Melbourne after a

rather poor effort in this.

Tonight's card starts with the Flying Childers over the 1000m. Requinto is 7/2, My Propeller 4/1, but we

like Lilbourne Lad here at 5/1 as the best of the 10 runners.

The May Hill G2 for 2yo fillies over 1600 has 8 starters, and here we like Regal Realm 2/1. Fallen for

You looked good on debut but this is second up and 11/8 looks short, and Mick Channon's Samitar at

7/1 could be in this.
