Group One-winning French colt Silverwave will not travel to Ireland for the Qipco Irish Champion Stakes at Leopardstown on September 10.

The Pascal Bary-trained four-year-old bounded into contention for the Prix de l'Arc de Triomphe at Chantilly when he excelled in the Grand Prix de Saint-Cloud at the beginning of the month.

Silverwave still holds an entry in the Leopardstown Group One, but Bary is keen to run him a day later in the Prix Foy - a renowned Arc trial which will this year be staged at Chantilly.

He said: "I am very happy with this horse. He looks well and is having a very good summer.

"We want to go to the Arc, but he will have one more run before that.

"The Prix Foy is an ideal next race for him as it will be easier for him to stay in Chantilly (instead of running in Ireland).

"I think he has improved a lot this year and is a lot better four-year-old than he was a three-year-old - he is a lot easier to ride this season."
