Steady Pace is to be stepped up in class and trip for the six-furlong Arqana July Stakes at Newmarket on Thursday.
The son of Dark Angel has only run over five furlongs in three starts, the most recent of which saw him finish a close-up third in the Listed Windsor Castle Stakes at Royal Ascot.
Trainer Saeed bin Suroor said: "I was pleased with how Steady Pace ran at Ascot. He has been doing well at home. There is a Group Two race for him over six furlongs at Newmarket. The trip will be much better for him."
There are no immediate plans for stablemate Always Smile, who lost her unbeaten status when beaten a nose in the Sandringham Handicap at Royal Ascot.
Bin Suroor said: "We gave Always Smile a little break after Ascot.
"She is now back in training but there are no plans for her.
"I would have preferred some rain for her at Ascot so we will look somewhere where the ground is good."
