Godolphin doubly represented on Saturday

Godolphin is bidding to maintain a 100 per cent record in Fast-Track Qualifiers for the 32Red Marathon when Gold Trail and Pinzolo go in the 32Red Conditions Stakes over just short of two miles at Lingfield Park on Saturday.

Gold Trail (Charlie Appleby/Ryan Moore) is stepping up in trip after completing a three-timer in a 12-furlong handicap at Wolverhampton on February 13, while Pinzolo(Charlie Appleby/Adam Kirby), a Listed winner at Newmarket in 2014, was last seen out when sixth in a 10-furlong dirt handicap at Meydan, Dubai, on January 15.

Godolphin has won 32Red Marathon Fast-Track Qualifiers with Hidden Gold (Wolverhampton, December 13) and Anglophile (Lingfield Park, January 21).

John Reel (David Evans/John Egan) was third behind Gold Trail at Wolverhampton last time out, which came on the back of a decisive victory in an extended two-mile handicap at the same venue on February 2.

The six-year-old had previously captured a £45,000 handicap over 12 furlongs at Lingfield Park on January 3.

Evans said: "John Reel has come out of Wolverhampton good and seems really well in himself.

"Personally, I felt the front two got away from him a bit there and he could not peg them back. Maybe it happened a bit too quickly for him, but you can't say it was a bad run because he was only beaten a length and a quarter.

"He is running on Saturday because I want to make sure he gets into the Marathon on Good Friday. If he runs above his rating (92) on Saturday, which I think he will, then he will definitely get in the final.

"He is in really good form and I think he will run a good race. Depending on how he gets on, he could have one more run before Good Friday, but we will have to see. We can't keep running him."

Also among the line-up is Hurricane Higgins (Nicky Henderson/Joe Fanning), who is returning from an 853-day absence. The seven-year-old won the Goodwood Stakes and finished third in the Group Two Doncaster Cup for Mark Johnston in 2012.

Uramazin (Philip Hide/Liam Keniry) has enjoyed the step up to just short of two miles on his last two starts, including when winning a valuable handicap over the course and distance on December 29, while Double Discount (Tom Dascombe/Luke Morris) has stamina to prove after good performances over 11 and 12 furlongs.

Completing the field are Triumphant (Gary Moore/George Baker) and Masterpaver (Alan Bailey/Martin Harley), who was runner-up to Gold Trail at Lingfield Park in January.
