UK: Botti Sets Two For Hong Kong

Marco Botti's stable star Excelebration is bang on target for next month's Cathay Pacific Hong Kong Mile after coming through an easy workout in Newmarket at the weekend.

Botti is set to break new ground in style by having two runners at the International meeting as he also has Italian import Jakkalberry earmarked for the Hong Kong Vase.

Excelebration has been absent since getting another rear view of his old foe Frankel for a third time in the G1 Queen Elizabeth II Stakes at Ascot last month.

Prior to that four-length reversal, the son of Exceed And Excel had won on his first start for new part-owners Coolmore to success when overcoming Rio De La Plata in the G1 Prix Moulin at Longchamp in September.

Botti said: "Excelebration is on course for the Hong Kong Mile and we will work him on Polytrack on Wednesday with a view to getting him back on grass at the weekend.

"Jamie Spencer will ride him in Hong Kong after which he is expected to stay in training next year but I don't know if he will stay here or not."

"Jakkalberry hasn't run for us yet. We hope he will run the Hong Kong Vase after which he will go to Dubai with a view to being prepared for the Dubai Sheema Classic in March."
