Stephen Marsh will have at least four runners on each of the remaining days of the Wellington Cup carnival.
The Cambridge trainer made an impact at Trentham last Saturday when he quinellaed the Gr.3 Anniversary Handicap with Seize The Moment and Thee Auld Floozie while Akoya claimed the special conditions sprint.
“She’s really well and Santiago will run in the Douro; Nymph, who was quite an impressive winner at Ellerslie, will run in the Rating 65 mile and Scarlet’s Secret is in the Rating 65 1200,” he said.
“We’ll be back the following week to attack with Ruud Not Too, Thee Auld Floozie and Seize The Moment in the Thorndon, Rube Bridges in the Desert Gold Stakes and Rocanto, who probably won’t get in the Telegraph, can run in the Racing 85 1200.”Meanwhile, Marsh rates his debut runner Savapak (race two) as one of his best chances of success at the Rotorua meeting on Wednesday.
“He goes pretty well and he trialled up nicely,” he said.Savapak won at the Te Awamutu trials last month in the hands of Danielle Johnson, who will return from suspension to partner the colt, while stablemate Longford (race four) is also tipped to show improvement.
“He’s going a lot better than his form might suggest,” Marsh said.
