Hamilton trainers Graeme and Debbie Rogerson will attempt to continue their domination of two-year-old racing so far this season when they produce Magic Dancer in Thursday's NZB Insurance Pearl Series Race at Tauherenikau.

The Rogersons have had runners in all five two-year-old races run in New Zealand this season, winning four of them and placing second and third in the other.

Serena Miss and Wawrinka placed behind Hocus Pocus at Wanganui last month before Maritimo scored at Ruakaka a week later. Jacquetta triumphed at Riccarton, while Reminisce beat Wawrinka at Otaki before Wawrinka finally got his turn at Riccarton last Saturday.

"We have always had them up and running early in the past. We've had a lot of two-year-old winners," Graeme Rogerson said.

"We nominated 20 for the Golden Slipper and we've paid up with 10. Hopefully a couple will measure up and we'll take a couple to the Magic Millions Classic as well."

Rip Van Winkle filly Magic Dancer has finished second in both her trials and has the services of leading rider Danielle Johnson at Tauherenikau.

"She goes well and she should be competitive down there," Rogerson said.

"It's a Pearl Series race and she's eligible for the bonus so it makes it worthwhile travelling her down there for it. She's a promising filly."

Rogerson doesn't plan on missing a two-year-old race any time soon either, with Halleloojah, who is unbeaten in two trials, set to make his debut at Avondale next Wednesday, while Maritimo will contest the Listed Wellesley Stakes at Trentham on October 25.

Jaquetta and Wawrinka will tackle the two-year-old race at Riccarton the same day.
