Style Is Eternal has been tipped out by Chad Ormsby as the stable’s best chance of a home track success at Matamata on Wednesday.
A stoutly-bred daughter of Montjeu and a Rainbow Quest mare, the five-year-old finished fourth in her sole appearance in Ireland before coming to New Zealand and she has made an encouraging start with placings in both appearances.
“She had a couple of jump-outs and a trial here and she’s impressed us since,” said Ormsby, who prepares the mare with Mike Moroney. “I think she can be a really good staying mare next year.”
Style Is Eternal finished third in her New Zealand debut at Matamata over a mile and then filled a similar placing at Te Aroha when stepped up to 2200 metres.
Mark Du Plessis rode her last time out and he will be aboard again in Wednesday’s Any Suggestion @ Rich Hill Stud 2000.
The stable also has prospects of successfully closing out the programme with Fairy Cake in the Rating 75 Bradbury Park 2000.
“She is out of her grade, but it’s not an overly strong field and she’s going well,” Ormsby said.
Rating 75 sprint contenders Madly Bentley and Roll With Pulse are also expected to give good accounts of themselves in the Seaton Park 1400.
“Madly Bentley has had a bit of a freshen-up and I’d give her a good chance the way she’s been working and Roll With Pulse is a definite place chance as well,” Ormsby said.
