The Group 1 Northerly Stakes (1800m) winner has drawn barrier eight in the $300,000 event, with Tommy Berry to ride.

Now under the care of prominent Sydney training partnership Annabel Neasham and Rob Archibald, Amelia's Jewel trialled twice ahead of her first Sydney start.

The most recent trial saw Amelia's Jewel beat blacktype performer Too Darn Lizzie by more than a length over 1000m.

Archibald said the early signs were promising for Amelia's Jewel to make her presence felt in Sydney.

"She's been really straightforward so far to deal with," Archibald told TABradio.

"Her two trials have been good and she was put under a little bit more pressure in that second trial.

"She's a quality filly and we're really looking forward to getting her underway."

Blacktype performers Freedom Rally and Arctic Glamour headline Amelia's Jewel's opposition on Saturday.

Archibald said while he expected a strong showing from Amelia's Jewel on Saturday, he expected her to appreciate the hit out.

"We think she's just about perfect in terms of she's still carrying a bit of condition, but she will tighten up for the run.

"There's still plenty of improvement to come, but we're certainly confident she's in a good place and expect her to run well."

Archibald said the Group 1 Epsom Handicap (1600m) and $5 million King Charles Stakes on October 5 and 19 respectively were both possible targets for the five-year-old.
