Veight remains on track to run in the Caulfield Guineas while Mr Brightside is set to gallop at Sandown.
Ballarat trainers Tony and Calvin McEvoy will press on with plans to run Veight in the Caulfield Guineas.
The Group 1 Guineas (1600m) on October 14 has been the target for Veight since the colt entered the Ballarat stables of the father-and-son training team this campaign.
Veight was explosive winning first-up in the McNeil Stakes (1200m) at Caulfield on September 2 before being wayward in his most recent start.
The colt was expected to offer the stiffest opposition to Steparty in the Guineas Prelude (1400m) at Caulfield last Saturday, but wound up in fifth spot, more than two-and-a-half lengths off the winner.
"He's come through it pretty well, so we're going to kick on towards the Guineas," Calvin McEvoy said.
"We're going to play around with a few bits of different gear, but he just got over racing a little bit and just had a tendency to want to do things the wrong way, hence laying out in the straight.
"When you're going sideways you can't go forward, so for everything he did wrong to be beaten only 2.6 lengths showed that he's up to them, but he needs to straighten himself out a little bit."
After sitting on the third line of betting for the Caulfield Guineas at $8 prior to the Guineas Prelude, Veight has been pushed out in the market and is currently a $21 chance.
Meanwhile Lindsay Park star Mr Brightside is set to have a gallop between races at Sandown on Sunday in preparation for the King Charles III Stakes at Randwick on October 14.
Mr Brightside is unbeaten in three starts this campaign, most recently winning the Makybe Diva Stakes (1600m) at Flemington on September 16.
Lindsay Park trainers Ben, Will and J D Hayes have been preparing Mr Brightside for the King Charles III at their country property at Euroa.
Mr Brightside will gallop with stablemate So Risque between races two and three while the Ciaron Maher and David Eustace-trained stablemates Ashrun and Future History will also have an exhibition gallop between races four and five.
