Tannhauser To Bounce Back At Kranji

Tannhauser looks more than capable of bouncing back to form following his disappointing effort last start when he lines up in the Class 2 (1200m) at Kranji on Sunday.

The talented four-year-old gelding was sent out the short priced favourtie in a Kranji Stakes A and after leading for much of the race knocked up over the concluding stages to finish sixth.

The Michael Clements-trained runner won a Class 2 over this trip two starts back running to a new career peak Timeform figure on that occasion and if he can return to that sort of form again today he should prove too good.

Tannhauser has been given a decent break since his last start effort and won a recent barrier trial over 1000m in preparation for today.

From the inside draw would expect Vlad Duric to be positive once again in what appears to be a fairly genuine tempo and if can run up to what he is capable of he can certainly return to the winners circle.

Webster has rarely put a foot wrong in his career to date and comes off a very nkice win in a Class 3 on the Polytrack over 1200m last start.

That effort came on the back of a close third placing on the turf to Charger in a Class 3 and he certainly looks a horse on the rise.

All four wins for the son of Showcasing have come over the 1200m journey and from barrier 5 should find himself in a nice spot off the leaders.

Webster certainly needs to go up a gear to match it with the likes of Tannhauser but you would expect he has more improvement to come and should be right around the mark again.

Dinghu Mountain returned in good order with a last start win in a Class 3 over 1200m on the Polytrack.

It was a fair few starts between wins before that effort but since coming to Singapore he has been very consistent without putting lots of wins on the board.

Raced wide throughout last start but was still able to get the job done and he was not out of place in some Stakes races last campaign.

Will need luck from the wide draw and may find himself back in the ruck a bit but if he can find some cover expect him to be hitting the line strongly.

Al Green rounds out the main chances on the back of a second placing in a Kranji Stakes A (1000m) behind Distinctive Darci.

Probably better suited over the 1000m trip but will be there with 200m to go and could stick on for a place.

Good luck!
