Situation Primed For First Up Success

European import galloper Situation appears well placed to make a winning debut in Singapore, when due to contest the final event.

Picture: Racing and Sports

Formerly trained by Aidan O'Brien [Old Name: Sportsmanship], Situation displayed good ability in his six starts and remains a big watch on debut for the Ricardo Le Grange stable.

Last seen in Group 3 company behind Intelligence Cross, Situation has been given plenty of time to acclimatise to his new surroundings with four trials under his belt.

No question at his best, he is extremely well placed and his most recent trial was very encouraging behind star galloper War Affair.

Unlike the majority of European imports, Situation is in fact a sprinter and will certainly relish the 1200m.

The in-form Barend Vorster legs aboard for the first time, but has ridden the three-year-old at his last two trials.

The wide draw is a slight hindrance, however he should be able to settle somewhere midfield and prove very hard to hold out.

While it is never easy for these imports to perform up to their best on debut, on class alone, he has a fair bit up his sleeve.

Situation creates plenty of interest, as if able to get back to his best form, he can certainly progress the grades in Singapore.

The Stephen Burridge trained Lim's Sparkle has been rock solid in recent efforts and has to be kept safe down in the weights.

While yet to feature in six attempts over this trip, he rates well on best form and has drawn to receive all the favours for Harry Kasim.

An eye catcher late behind Red Duke last start, if able to repeat that level of performance he shapes as one of the hardest to beat.

The Shane Baertschiger trained O'What A Feeling has mixed his form in recent efforts but he too is certainly capable and has to be kept safe, dropping back in trip.

In three attempts on the polytrack, he has placed in two and has placed in three of five attempts over this trip.

John Powell continues his association with the four-year-old and he cannot be taken lightly.

The Michael Clements trained Knight Chen Bay won well at this course and distance last start and has to be respected with Nunes sticking aboard.

A winner of two of his 11 starts, Knight Chen Bay has placed on a further five occasions and is a noted performer over this trip.

From the good draw he shouldn't be too far away and has to included in the main hopes.

Of the rest the Steven Burridge trained Lim's Bullet appears the best of the rest.

While he too has mixed his form, the engagement of Michael Rodd is a decent push and if right, he is certainly capable.

Good luck and happy punting.
