Layt Holds The Aces At Canberra

Progressive filly No When To Hold Em appears well placed to return to the winner's stall in the final event at Canberra this afternoon.

An impressive maiden winner first up this track, No When To Hold Em went on to confirm that figure at Rosehill last start when not beaten far behind Beside You.

Only lightly raced she has placed in six of 10 attempts and is unbeaten in her sole attempt on a heavy track.

In three attempts at Canberra she has placed in all three and has placed in two of three attempts over this trip.

Her effort behind Flash Fibian prior to a break leaves her open to further improvement and she should be right at her peak racing third up.

At the weights she is very well placed after Brock Ryan's claim and has notably drawn to receive all the favours.

If able to reproduce her best form she is more than capable and looks to set a decent standard for her rivals.

The Aaron Clarke trained Alabasta Bay continues to race well and while possessing just the two wins from his last 14 starts, he is rarely far away and has to be kept safe.

In 11 attempts at this track he has placed in eight and although drawn out, it could prove favourable by the end of the day.

With the aid of Aaron Sweeney's claim he too appears well placed and has to be included in the main hopes.

The George Vella trained Vella Lonchick has failed to fire as favourite at her last two starts however she should be right at her peak now and has to be kept safe.

Having made her return off a lengthy break (399 days) back in July she has been solid in three starts since and cannot be taken lightly.

On her best form she is more than capable and with Jay Ford sticking aboard she shapes as one of the major players.

Of the rest the Trevor Sutherland trained Oh What A Thief appears the next best following a solid performance at Wagga last start.

Notably gets the blinkers back on and has to be included with Matthew Cahill in the saddle.

Good luck and happy punting.
