Blue Class 2 At Hawkesbury

Spiced can build on her strong first up showing when contesting the seventh event at Hawkesbury on Thursday.

The daughter of Exceed And Excel placed on resuming at this course and distance in a Benchmark 65 a fortnight ago.

She ran to a Timeform rating of 74 on that occasion, seven pounds shy of a master Timeform rating of 81 she ran to when shedding her maiden tag at Wyong last campaign.

With the benefit of added fitness second up, Spiced can return to the winner’s circle in Thursday’s David Dwyer Bookmaker Class 2 Handicap (1300m).

She appears well suited down in the weights and has placed in her lone second up outing along with her lone visit to this course.

A number of her opposition are struggling for form and Spiced can capitalise on that at Hawkesbury on Thursday.

Godolphin saddle up a strong dual pronged attack in the seventh event at Hawkesbury on Thursday with Bracteate an excellent Plan B.

The Medaglia D’Oro gelding resumes after a strong campaign in the first half of the season where he held his form well.

The gelding has trialled twice in readiness for this, has a solid first up record and distance credentials.

Blake Shinn rides and from an inside barrier, the pair should enjoy all of the favours in transit.

Between this pair, Godolphin seemingly have the race in their keeping.

There are value players however who can add value to multiples.

One of these is Satirical Magic.

The gelding resumed well at Nowra, settling worse than midfield and then working strongly into second over 1200m.

Satirical Magic will strip fitter for the run and has recorded each of his two career wins over this distance.

Mark’s Legacy has been racing against stronger company so far this campaign.

His first up effort when rattling home into fourth at the Gold Coast was strong.

He is a winner at this course and will no doubt relish a drop back to provincial level.

Moroccan Ruby failed to beat a runner home on resuming over 1200m at Wyong.

She is capable of better however as evidenced by her prior campaign and shapes as an improver second up.

It is Spiced though who has the form and anticipated upside to suggest she will be hard to beat in Thursday’s David Dwyer Bookmaker Class 2 Handicap (1300m).
