The Gai Waterhouse-trained Aware looks ready to record her first career win in Thursday’s Primary Club at Gosford.
Aware was last seen placing at Wyong seven days ago over 1200m.
It was a solid display where she fought to the line well behind Pierro’s sister Snow White.
The run returned a Timeform figure of 71, a 13 pound improvement on her debut at the same track over 1200m.
A combination of race experience, fitness and the addition of blinkers all no doubt worked in her favour.
Aware can now build on that last start placing in Thursday’s Primary Club Maiden Plate (1100m) at Gosford.
The daughter of Tale Of The Cat rates highest amongst this field on weight adjusted figures.
Tye Angland rides and ideally will have the mare settled first two in transit from their inside barrier.
There appears to be a sense of timing about her on Thursday and she could take some catching.
Paige ‘n’ Paris made a solid debut at Canberra where she placed over 1000m, beaten a long neck.
Expect the daughter of Snippetson to go forward and perhaps even lead from barrier 1.
The Marc Conners-trained filly will take catching in her own right, but in saying that, can give Aware something to sit outside of.
Montrer Dame made a solid debut at Newcastle.
The Paul Perry-trained filly settled back and was working home well over 1300m.
She rates well amongst this field on that showing.
Dropping back in trip and around the tight turning Gosford may not be ideal though if connections again elect to settle her at the ear of the field.
Overall though, the Primary Club Maiden Plate at Gosford looks there for Aware to take.
