No Distress For Punters At Goulburn

Having displayed good ability on debut the John O'Shea trained Distress appears poised to break her maiden status in the second event at Goulburn this afternoon.

Rising to the mile after finishing third at Hawkesbury on debut, the daughter of Commands really caught the eye late and is expected to improve sharply at her second career start.

The full-sister to Remorse who we have seen prove capable over 2000m and beyond there is no question Distress will be aided by the step up in trip this afternoon and rates well on her debut performance.

On Timeform weight adjusted ratings she rates on top following the scratching of Fairyland and does look to possess more upside than a majority of her rivals.

From the good draw expect McEvoy to find a nice spot just off the speed and Distress should prove very hard to hold out in the straight.

VENZANO:

Is wearing punters' patience a bit thin. Started favourite last start and looked to have every chance when runner up over this trip at Kembla. Down a little in grade here so worth a look.

HAPPY PARTNER:

Made up good ground in the run home to finish fourth at Hawkesbury over 1400m last start. Ready to step up to the mile now and looks a major player with luck from the draw.

ALAVESA:

Fair effort here first up then tired to finish fifth at Hawkesbury last start over 1500m. Went close at this trip last prep so might improve with the extra 100m today.

MAL'S LAST DANCER:

Has had a six week let up since failing on the Kensington track over 1800m. Placed on a heavy track at Hawkesbury over 2000m the run before so is not out of it.

STRADA TIME:

Made up many lengths to get within two of the winner here over 1300m last start. Fitter today at his third run back but is looking like a non-winner.

KISS MY BLARNEY:

Had a 30 week break before finishing a respectable sixth here over 1300m recently. Might find some of these a bit smart.

PRINCESS GEORGIE:

Even effort to finish seventh here over 1300m last start. Fitter now but has only placed 2/18 so hard to get too excited.

BOUSSOLE:

Has shown nothing in two career starts to get the pulse racing.

FRIDAY JEWEL:

Only beaten three lengths here last start over 1300m but is likely to struggle against some tidy opposition here.

SNAPSHOT DANE:

In dreadful form this prep and won't get within a bull's roar unless he improves suddenly.

HUSERIN:

Has been woefully out of form this prep and poses no threat to these.
