Emergency Ward Worth Waiting For At Mornington

Emergency Ward has been knocking on the door in recent times and looks well placed in the last at Mornington today.

The Anthony Freedman-trained runner has finished in the placings his last four outings and drops slightly back slightly in class today on what he has been competing in of late.

Dropping back slightly in trip to 1510m, Emergency Ward has had two previous attempts over the distance range, winning one of them and placing on the other occasion.

The four-year-old rates well on his last start third at Terang and should prove hard to hold out in this.

Apprentice jockey Joseph Azzopardi goes back on board having ridden the gelding when third at Cranbourne three back. Claims a much needed 1.5kg and is likely to push forward and taken plenty of running down.

Seguro followed up a second at this track with a win last start in a similar affair to what he faces here. Drawn well in barrier four here and looks well placed to make his presence felt once again.

The Brian Jenkins-trained runner gets a much needed 2kg claim and the scratching of Walloon Region brings him right into it.

Here To There was good wining a Bendigo BM70 three starts back before struggling in the city at past two outings. Better suited back here and should measure up nicely on best form.

Drawn wide in barrier 11 but will come in after the scratchings and should be somewhere in the mix over the concluding stages.

These look the main hopes but there does appear to be a couple of each way chances in the race.

Bet You She Rocks Has won at two of past three including a 1.3L win at Echuca in a BM64 over 1400m last time out.

Won’t be far away and with the 4kg claim looks a lightweight chance.

Moving Money looks the best of the rest. Disappointing at Sandown-Lakeside last start but finds easier company here and is not to be discounted.
