Kranji Stakes Is Easy Man

Exciting sprinting prospect Easy Man makes his return at Singapore on Friday night and appears very well placed to notch up five straight victories.

Making the successful return from a serious injury back in August last year the son of Ishiguru would go on to notch up three impressive victories culminating in a career peak performance prior to a break.

Having proven quite the talent as a two-year-old his promising career had to be put on hold when he suffered a fractured cannon bone in his near fore following an easy trial win.

Requiring surgery to correct the injury, Easy Man went off the radar for close to a year before returning at the trials in July last year.

Making his long awaited return in August the son of Ishiguru proved ultra impressive when streaking his rivals by three-and-a-half lengths in very quick time.

Successful in raising the bar at his following two starts the now four-year-old appears well on track for bigger and better this time in with further improvement expected off a break.

The time figures recorded out of his last two starts also emphasise this as he was proven to be the superior performance of each meeting and on times alone he appears a notch above his rivals on Friday.

Drawn ideally on the rails he is expected to bounce and dictate terms with apprentice rider Tengku Rehaizat engaged to offset the topweight.

Linking aboard the talented galloper for the first time, Rehaizat in fact rode him in his latest trial leading into this in which Easy Man finished a close third.

Bouncing out to lead early he was not asked to extend in the straight and worked to the line nicely under his own steam.

Given the time out of the trial proved to be one of the quickest of the morning is a further indication that he has come back in great order and is well in line to raise the bar again on Friday.

Asked to carry just two-and-a-half kilograms above the minimum sees him extremely well placed as he in-fact carried more weight when saluting in similar company last start.

Adding to that there doesn't appear to be any horse in this affair that has the ability to match it with him in the early stages and hence he looks to get it all his own way on Friday night.

While there are gallopers in this event that do possess a sharp turn of foot, given Easy Man bowls a long at such a quick tempo it is likely that he will get them out of their comfort zone early and thus not allow them to finish their race off as well as they normally would.

More notably Easy Man has already displayed his ability to set a fast tempo up front and then quicken considerably in the straight and if successful in doing so again on Friday night he simply should prove too sharp for his rivals.

He rates clear on Timeform weight adjusted ratings and given he is likely to raise the bar again he is expected to prove too good for his rivals.

The Patrick Shaw trained Super Kenny has proven a revelation this time in and is unfortunate to not have notched up three straight victories following his narrow defeat last time out.

Successful in following up from his good form last preparation the son of Host has taken the next step this time in and appears Easy's Man biggest threat on Friday night.

Placing in six of his last seven starts, Super Kenny rates just two pounds shy of Easy Man on Timeform weight adjusted ratings however he does have a bit too find on raw time figures.

While only narrowly beaten last time out, the time figures recorded out of the event were proven to be considerably weaker than Easy Man's last two performances and hence you have to question whether he can make the step up or whether he has in fact reached his mark.

Nonetheless his two trials leading up to this were quite good and with any luck from the wide draw he is expected to be right in the finish.

The Alvin Tan trained Perfect Charger proved quite disappointing last time out however given his strong form prior he has to be respected and does appear the next in line.

Given four weeks to get over his last start flop he too has trialled nicely in the lead up and if able to reproduce his best form he isn't rated far off the top two.

Proven to race at his best when ridden aggressively he will likely settle just off Easy Man in the run and if the latter does prove to have a chink in his armour he is expected to be right there to take advantage.

Of the rest last start winner Double Star has to be given some hope following his solid performance to score first up here last time out.

Successful in recording a new career peak the lightly raced son of Ishiguru appears to have come back in great order and does appear capable of causing a boil over if successful in raising the bar again.

Good luck and happy punting.
