Sun To Shine Again At Seymour

Delago Sun may be getting towards the veteran class but he's racing in fine form of late and looks hard to beat again in today's Mitchelton Wines Handicap (race 8) on the big card at Seymour today.

The Lyn Tolson trained seven year old has won his last two starts and can make it a hat trick in this showcase BM72 over 1612m.

Delago Sun had been honest without winning, running on at a strong of runs before he was freshened and dropped back to 1457m at Kilmore.

He had a big weight there in the easier grade but after settling midfield found the line well down the outside to score a head win.

He then returned to a mile last time in a BM72 at Bendigo where he had a wide gate.

Settling midfield but caught deep, he turned wide but kept coming in the straight, forging clear last to score a three-quarter length win over Bashan.

The gelding has a wide gate again today but it's hard to fault his form and with a sound record at the course and plenty of form at the mile, he looks hard to hold out again.

The Allan Fitzgerald trained Little Pablo is ready to show his best and should be hard to hold out.

The lightly raced gelding resumed with a second placing over 1200m at Wodonga, then ran on well for fourth at Bendigo second up.

Last start he stepped up to a mile at Bendigo and after getting well back and turning there he made good ground to finish fifth behind Delago Sun.

He meets the winner better at the weights this time and from a good gate should enjoy a soft run throughout.

With even luck in the straight he'll prove hard to hold out again.

New York gains a start as an emergency and looks the knockout horse.

The gelding placed fresh at Mornington then ran on for seventh at Sale.

He appreciated the slightly longer journey third up at Kyneton when sitting closer but working home too well to score his maiden win.

But he went on with it last time over 1500m at Bendigo, settling midfield but running on well to score a two length win.

This is a tougher race again and the alley hasn't made it any easier either, but he drops in weight and is still seemingly on the way up.

The Red Emperor is rarely far away and has been freshened as he drops back to a mile.

He rates well on his best form and can feature in this open race at odds.
