Daily Preview: Best Bet Scone – August 15

Eye On America can build upon a head turning first up outing in the 1300m Where There’s A Will Class 2 Handicap at Scone.

The Mark Mason-trained gelding is yet to put a foot wrong through his three career outings to date, improving with each effort.

His latest came off a short spell at this course over 1100m.

On that occasion the son of All American settled back and rattled home, only narrowly missing out on victory with a second to Our Meteor.

He will have taken benefit from that outing and is expected to go one better in the Where There’s A Will Class 2 Handicap (1300m).

While untried over 1300m, Eye On America hit the line on resuming like a gelding who will appreciate the added trip.

Encouraging about his first up outing was the fact Eye On America was settled back in the field.

Prior to that, he had been ridden positively.

It means jockey Andrew Gibbons has options here from barrier 5 knowing the gelding can produce a result whether ridden positively or quietly.

Aerojet has placed in each of his runs this campaign at provincial level, both at Wyong.

A drop back to country company with added fitness third up should be ideal for the son of Jet Spur.

Time Stalker has appeal off a strong maiden win as favourite over 1150m at Cessnock 27 days ago.

The gelding rises in class and distance on the outing.

Such was the strength of his first up win though, the son of Oratorio must be a chance of stepping up to the mark.

Fashion Sniptz is another who like Aerojet drops back in grade after a pair of provincial runs to kick off her latest preparation.

The mare has performed well below her best this campaign considering she is a provincial winner who has also held her own at metropolitan level as a two-year-old.

A class drop and distance rise could see the daughter of Snitzel regain some confidence against generally lesser opposition to what she’s been facing.

In a solid Class 2 late on the card at Scone, it’s Eye On America who possesses the most appeal.
